A Small But Mighty Team

Pastor Sandy Bentz

Interim Pastor

Pastor Sandy joined us in June 2023 as Incarnation’s Intentional Interim Pastor. Besides doing the usual things pastors do (preach, teach, lead worship, baptize, provide pastoral care, etc.), she has special training in walking with congregations as they navigate transitional times.

She loves the Lord and is looking forward to helping us celebrate God’s faithfulness as we discover and explore the gifts God has given us, and move toward the new future and new “settled” pastor God has planned for us.

Pastor Sandy grew up in Chicago and has pastored churches in the Midwest as well as in Central and Southern California. She delights in daughters Kristin (Toph) and Kari (Jay) and grandkids James, Julia, Kaitlyn and Charlie. Pastor Sandy’s passion is sharing with others the freedom and joy that comes from experiencing God’s grace and knowing that WE ARE God’s beloved children! Knowing God loves us completely and unconditionally frees us to live for Jesus, for the sake of others. Real joy comes from trusting God to work through us, in all times and circumstances, to embody God’s love, healing and wholeness for the world.

Diego Gonzales

Office Administrator

Diego comes to Incarnation with more than 15 years of administrative experience with a law firm and in the finance and mortgage industry. Diego has a huge passion for cars and taking them to car events. When he’s not working or at car events, he’s at the gym or exploring San Diego and trying new restaurants. He’s happy to be joining Incarnation’s admin team.

Katie Sauer

Social Media Manager

I grew up at Incarnation, was part of LINK youth group, went on mission trips to Cameroon three times, and New Orleans for the ELCA Youth Gathering once. I’m the mom to Revived Band’s biggest fan (a three year old spunky bundle of girly joy), now back in SD and loving it! Works on social media and much more for the church.

Beckie Steller

Director of Music

Beckie Steller, a lifelong Lutheran, discovered her passion for church music while attending California Lutheran University. She directs the adult, youth, bell, and children’s choirs. Her hobbies include gardening, needlework, and playing with her grand babies.

Scott Steller

Revived Band Leader, IT Administrator, & Media Coordinator

Scott is a San Diego native and life-long member at Incarnation Lutheran Church. I am one of the founding members of ILC’s worship band “Revived” (2009), and took over leadership of the group in 2013. I am currently also the IT Administrator and Media Coordinator for ILC.

Ben Barroga

Finance Administrator

Hi! Born and raised in San Diego, I officially began my accounting career in 2012 after graduating from California State University San Marcos. In 2020, I decided to make a shift from working corporate accounting and to branch out on my own. Directly helping small businesses and nonprofits is a passion of mine.
