Pastor Tony Scheer

Senior Pastor

Pastor Tony Scheer has been a Pastor in the ELCA for over 25 years. Pastor Scheer most recently was the Interim Pastor at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Sedona, Arizona. Before then, he served Spirit of Hope Lutheran in Mesa, Arizona, since 2019.

Tony was married to Carol Scheer for 34 years before she unexpectedly died in 2022. Together they have two grown daughters, Kirstin and Kari, and two grandchildren, Grayson and Sofia.
Pastor Tony enjoys hiking, camping, and off-road driving. He is crazy about chocolate and loves to visit with people, especially when there is food involved.

Pastor Tony, who is lovingly called PT by his parishioners, is a people lover and has been described by others as both a bounding St. Bernard and a Koala Bear. His personality is one of openness and authentic care for others.

Lauren Sleeper

Office Administrator/Youth Leader

Lauren serves God and ILC as both Office Administrator and Middle and High School Youth Leader. She has a passion for education, youth ministry, music, organization, and connecting communities. She thoroughly enjoys meeting new people and wants to help everyone be part of doing God’s work.

Tracey Marino

Director Of Music/Organist

Tracey Marino is a composer, songwriter, music producer, and author who has an extensive background directing choirs and playing organ, piano, and keyboards for various churches and religious organizations.

Her first paid music job was as the piano accompanist for music director Gay Weiss at Incarnation Lutheran Church while studying pipe organ in college. She is a self-proclaimed “liturgy and hymn fanatic.” Tracey and Vance have written and published an Epiphany song and written and arranged liturgical pieces such as Alleluias and Gospel Acclamations, Doxologies, and mass settings for Advent and Lent. One of Tracey’s greatest joys is hearing a choir and congregation sing. Tracey, along with her husband Vance, has written and recorded over 3,000 compositions for film, TV, video games, commercials, and movie trailers. They are authors of the best-selling book about sync music, Hey! That’s My Song! A Guide to Getting Music Placements in Film, TV, and Media. The Marinos are the volunteer coordinators of a local songwriting group, the Nashville Songwriters Association International San Diego Chapter, hosted by Studio West and The Recording Arts Center in Rancho Bernardo. Tracey and Vance live in southwest Escondido with their rescue golden retriever, Frankie.

Beckie Steller

Handbells and Youth Music

Beckie Steller, a lifelong Lutheran, discovered her passion for church music while attending California Lutheran University. She directs the ILC Ringers and leads our youth music. Her hobbies include gardening, needlework, and playing with her grand babies.

Scott Steller

Revived Band Leader,
IT/AV Administrator

Scott is a San Diego native and life-long member at Incarnation Lutheran Church. He is one of the founding members of ILC’s worship band “Revived” (2009), and took over leadership of the group in 2013. He is also the IT and AV Administrator at Incarnation.

Tollak Rafto

Social Media Manager

Tollak is a content creator and musician in San Diego. He runs Incarnation’s social media accounts (Facebook/Instagram). Tollak has been Revived’s drummer since 2013 and teaches percussion for marching band at several San Diego high schools.
